Just had a look at the nominations for this year’s MOBO awards which take place in Liverpool this October. A very fascinating pick…well what’s new with the MOBOs??!! I’m entitled to my opinion and I just want this award in reality justified and stating its eminence for something because I don’t see what this recognizes other that recognizing the talent in the urban industry.
I agree to the platform in rewarding talent that is often overshadowed at other awards shows but its organization and real value to somewhat of a prize to the artist being nominated or receiving the award seems to me questionable. Both UK & International acts both are at a shocking 15 nominations and Tinie Tempah is not nominated for best UK Hip Hop? So what is he then?! I know the alteration of music has stemmed from its originality but the form of which it’s familiar its not accepted? Should be an interesting year for this year’s award ceremony.
